Acomplia
Acomplia was at one time the first of a new group of prescription supplements. It was meant to help you to suppress appetite and therefore lose weight while also fighting addictive tendencies to help obese patients to also quit smoking. In clinical trials, the simple fact is that Acomplia was actually more successful at helping people to quit smoking. But this being said, it was sold exclusively in the UK and Europe, and it was never actually approved by the FDA though multiple attempts were made by Sanofi Aventis. Actually, Sanofi Aventis was accused of trying to cover up negative clinical study results including suicides, because they wanted to make the sale. However, they only discontinued this product when all of the countries they were selling in banned it. They milked it to the last drop and then tried to say that they were pulling it from the market because they care. There was no market left. This was dangerous, and frankly speaking, there is a reason that Acomplia has been discontinued.
